Staying Connected with Myspace Friends

On my Abundance Revolution page I have over 1300 friends. I find it difficult to keep in touch with everyone, and have generally only interacted with people who have messaged me or sent a message in response to something I have sent them.

I have been trying to figure out a way to stay in touch with more of my friends. Today while I was in my "inbox" I noticed there are now photo boxes of my friends who are currently online. How fun. There's a little "send message" link right there on the box.

This makes it easy to take a quick look at their page and familiarize myself with who they are, and then send them a quick hello. Nothing big or fancy, just a quick note saying hello and letting them know I am trying to connect with my friends.

The people who reply I can continue the conversation with. The people who don't reply I may consider deleting from my friends, especially if I have never had a conversation with them. I am debating on whether having so many friends is a positive or a negative. (right now the scales are kind of balanced in my mind)

That's it for today, just one more way to connect with your myspace friends.

I'm Not Getting Business Inquiries at Myspace

Today I want to talk about a problem you may encounter during your myspace marketing endeavors.

Not getting Business Inquiries.

You may be receiving responses to your messages, but no one is asking about your business.

This problem can be the result of a couple different variables.
  • Your page copy
  • Keywords your using to choose who to send friend requests to
These variables need to be tested one at a time. (ah visions of Psych Methods are coming to my head). What that means is don't change both things at the same time.

I suggest you try to tweak your keywords first ~ it's easiest and you should notice a difference rather quickly.

I have been experiencing this problem myself on my new page. I thought about the keywords I have been using and decided that is probably where my problem lies.

I have been using keywords like "spiritual journey" "joy" etc. These are all things I want in people I would like to work with. I have received many messages in response to the message I send with the friend request. However, all the responses I have gotten so far have been in relation to the spiritual element of my page. No one is asking about the business.

It really is no surprise when you think about it. People who are focused on spiritualism are most likely to respond to that aspect of my page.

What I need to do is think about keywords I might use to find people who are actually looking to work from home or make some extra money.

Use those keywords you might say. ~ I'd say no. Most people who are currently not involved in working online are not going to have those keywords on their page. So what do people who would like to make some extra money talk about? Who are they?

Mary K's discussion of groups may come in handy here. I think the groups would be a great place to do some keyword searching. Check in the group description for words you may want to use, even better, if you think the people in that group may be interested pull some IDs from the group page.

If you try a few different methods of gathering IDs to send friend requests to and you continue to run into the same problem, then go ahead and take a look at your page copy.

Have a wonderful day!

MySpace Forums vs. Groups

Can you tell I'm feeling FESTIVE today?!?? And where oh where does the time go... I thought I would get this post up before midnight... ah, but no such luck. (or discipline?) ;-)

I know that yesterday (okay, my idea of yesterday...do not look at the dates behind the curtain!) I talked about your ability to start searching for friends via MySpace Groups. Today I want to talk a bit about what I've come to see as some distinctions between the Groups and the Forums over at MySpace. This confuses many people... especially if you're just starting to interact in social communities.

There are similarities between the two and I'm not exactly sure why the creators of this community decided to have both. Each Group at MySpace (and as you noticed in my earlier post there are tens of thousands) essentially has a forum. A forum is simply a place where people gather to express their throughts, views and opinions. Some forums are very general and some forums are quite specific. The forums or groups that designate a specific topic typically have 'rules' or guidelines that state you are expected to stay on topic! Please respect that when you join a group and participate in any kind of forum.

You will have to go check out both Forums and Groups over at MySpace for yourself because this really is an energy thing. In other words, you will find place where you will more... or less... feel comfortable sharing your thoughts. And naturally, the ones that benefit you the most will be the ones you are most comfortable and jazzed about.

One of the things I've noticed, personally, is that following the link on the toolbar called FORUMS leads you to a page listing many categories of forums. And a LOT of people are having conversations in these forums. As a rule (and from my very limited personal experience) the FORUMS are a bit broader in category and topic than the conversations you will find going on in the GROUPS. While one is not particularly better than the other, looking for friends within GROUPS might make it easier to target a more specific group of people who are more likely to be a perfect fit for you and your product or service.

I know people in business, especially newbies, think they want to expose the whole wide world to what they have to offer. I can promise you, based on personal experience as well as the feedback from many very, very successful business owners... the smaller and more concisely you're willing to define and describe YOUR ideal customer/client... the easier and more successful your marketing will be!

And that is why I favor searching for new friends by going to GROUPS over at MySpace. It vastly increases my efficiency in connecting with the people I most want to connect with!

By the way... as you spend time over at MySpace you might have questions or discover a neat trick yourself. If so... I sure hope you'll come back here and post a comment so we can all benefit from it. For instance... I have a question that I meant to ask Jackie today and simply forgot -- what code do we need in order for an image to appear as the image when sending messages to people as we use FriendBlasterPro to request friends?!? I have a funny feeling that people might simply be seeing the link rather than the image so please let us know. Thanks Jackie!

And thank you!

More Ways to Add Friends at Myspace

Mary K made a great point yesterday about using groups to find your friends. I wanted to tell you another way I frequently find friends.

If you are using your friend blaster pro software and search on a topic you are given a list of pages matching that keyword. As you saw on yesterday's video frequently the first page is blogs. Blogs are connected to a person's page at Myspace (that means you have one too). If you click on the the link to get to the blog you can then click on the person's profile. Scroll down and take a look at their friends.

If this person's page looks like someone you would like to hang out with, chances are so are their friends! Take a look through their friends by clicking on the "all" link in their friends area and make sure they look like people who are similar to the page you are on, and like people you would like to know! If they are then just click the start button in your friend blaster pro software. It will gather all the IDs from this person's friends.

This is a very quick and easy way to find a lot of friends to easily send friend requests to.

That's it for today ~ tomorrow I'm going to tackle the topic of what to do when you are getting responses to your friend requests, but people aren't inquiring about your business. :) (I still have to work out a couple details in my head) :)

Have an amazing day!

MySpace Groups

I'm going to hope you're holding the visual from Jackie's wonderful videos demonstrating how to use FriendBlasterPro because I want to share with you another place to add friends to your profile over at MySpace.

You have already seen how you can click the word 'search' on the toolbar at MySpace, enter a keyword and connect with people who mention that word on their page. There is another very good place to go to find others who value the things you value... that is by going to 'GROUPS'.

There are thousands of groups over at MySpace about many different things so you're bound to find a group or two where you will meet interesting people who share an interest with you. Here's a list of the Group categories that I lifted from MySpace --

Get the picture... as I said THOUSANDS of groups you can join filled with many thousands of potential FRIENDS!

When you click 'Groups' from the toolbar along the top of any profile page you will be taken to a page that lists all of these categories. And to make things a bit easier and more efficient, MySpace offers a 'Search' function for Groups just like it does for members. Just click 'search groups', enter some terms that might define the kind of group you're looking for and you will find a listing of all groups that fall within the keyword parameter you chose!

One of the advantages of this is that you may have interests that aren't explicitly mentioned on your profile page... and that holds true for others too. After all, we can hardly mention every single interest we have in life all on one profile page and it doesn't mean we don't want to meet others that share our interest. For instance you may enjoy a hobby that you didn't mention on your page... and I'll bet you'll find a group full of people who share your interest... whether it's knitting, horseback riding, tattoos or Lake Louise Photography!

So if you open up your friendblaster and search groups until you find one that looks active you'll be able to add another group of amazing friends! ;-) And as you can see from my picture above... it all becomes a little
more clear when you see the whole 'group' over there <===. LOL

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!!!

Using Comments to Build Myspace Relationships

Hi everyone!

Wow, Mary K, great post yesterday! Thank you.

I was thinking this morning as I was doing the video and sending friend requests about when I first started doing this, and how it felt for me. I remember feeling almost smarmy using software to find and request friends.

I felt it was somehow inconsistent with the whole idea of "relationshipping". To no surprise the people I sent friend requests to during that period weren't all that glad to hear from me, nor were they people I really wanted to be friends with.

It's the same software now, and here's a couple of the messages I get from people in response to my friend requests:
HI, thanks for getting with me. It's interesting, you are into so much of what I'm into. I'm trying to make a huge dream come true. I'd love to chat with you about the Law of Attraction, and your program. Please get back with me if you can.

*****
Hi Jackie,

I'm so happy to meet you, really. I hope we can be good friends, the energy of you/you're profile, resonates.

Thanks for finding me

******

First of all, I think your daughter, Hannah, is absolutely adorable!! Second, you just might be the answer to my prayers, believe it or not!!!

What's the difference between now and then you ask? Intention!

Of course when you are feeling badly about something the results you get are an exact vibrational match. I had to figure out how to feel absolutely wonderful about using this software. To that end I decided to make it a law of attraction game.

Before I gather IDs I set an intention to find the perfect people who are fun, interesting, open to new ideas and need to meet me right now.

Before I send comments with the software I set an intention that my comment will go to just the "right" people who need to hear it today.

This one little change has set about an avalanche of wonderful messages and even more wonderful relationships.

If you are having some not so comfortable feelings about using the software, try to look at it in another way, and know that the law of attraction works, no matter what! Whether you are using software or doing it by hand you will attract just the "right" people who need to meet you today!

With that said, today's video is on sending comments to deepen your relationship with your existing myspace friends. I receive so many messages related to comments, and how they have shown up at just the right time, or were exactly what they needed to see that day. You can really deepen your relationship with comments, as well as leave your link for everyone to see ;)

Here's today's video. As always, if you have any questions or need more information, just leave us a comment down below. (it's also another great way to get a backlink to your site)

Have an amazing day!

MySpace - Looking for the 'fit' with others!

I spent some time over at MySpace this weekend just looking for new friends.

I've been playing over at the MS community off and on for the past year and yet it continues to amaze me how I find new things to check out along WITH new people to check out! LOL

One of the things that occurred to me today was that it might be valuable to go a bit deeper in sharing with you what may be obvious but often eludes us.

'Marketing' is always and all ways about saying the 'right' thing to the 'right' people at the 'right' time! And I'm not talking about 'right' as any kind of value-based judgment. Yet I think it's really important to recognize that getting into relationship with people and moving those relationships into FRIENDSHIPS happens when we share values with others. And we are more likely to make a sale to someone who feels they know, like and trust us... you know, like a friend.

In other words, a really good marketer knows they don't have a product or service for 'EVERYBODY' and knows that it's not necessary (dare I say possible) to become 'friends' with EVERYBODY they meet! And that's not a problem because all any of us need do is offer our brilliant solution (product/service) to the person looking for it when they most want it!

Keep in mind that we will greatly increase our odds of knowing who those people are if/when we take the time to get to know people. This does NOT have to take a great deal of time, as Jackie shows you with the nifty tools available to add new friends and it does mean you want to give some thought to jump-starting things by selecting people who share some of your values. Makes sense that those people may value the same products and services as you...yes?

Understand that one of the things that will reveal a persons values to you is the activities they engage in. We do the things we do because those things support our values. That's not to say we don't all spend a certain amount of energy deluding ourselves about ourselves from time to time so don't get upset with those situations where you believe you've made a good connection with someone only to find out later that we really share very little in common with them.

As an example, you may tell yourself that you truly value reading... yet you rarely read purely for pleasure or personal growth. While you may in fact value 'knowing how to read' you probably don't really value reading in that case. So searching for others who value 'reading' may not lead you to people who have a lot in common with you.

So give some thought to those 'keywords' you enter when doing a search through profiles over at MySpace. With a bit of honest, authentic soul-searching it will really add to your fun in making friends when you make of point of looking for people who value the same things you value. And MySpace offers so many things that make it a really rich community for making some genuine connections!

Have FUN my friends,
I appreciate you!

Add more friends with Friend Blaster Pro

IF you spent some time over the weekend adding friends you can see it can be time consuming. A great way to automate the process is to use a friend adder software. Mary K and I both use Friend Blaster Pro

Here's a few reasons why I like it.
  • It adds friends
  • sends messages
  • sends comments
  • sends timed bulletins
  • sends a message with your friend request
  • FREE version
You can get all of these functions through the free version. The only limitation is you can only send 50 of each of these things each day. IF you choose to upgrade and get the full version you have unlimited access to each of these functions.

* Don't send more than 300 friend requests a day or you risk having your account deleted.

It's a great piece of software, and is very intuitive. I thought I would just run you through the basics of getting your account added to the software and then how to find friends and send them a message and a friend request.

Here ya go. (I'm experimenting with the software, and today's video came out a little weird, sorry)

That's it for today. Tomorrow we will be looking at some of the additional features of Friend Blaster Pro. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comment section!

Have a great day!

Making Friends at Myspace

By now your profile should be filled in with your interests, your story, who you'd like to meet. We haven't chosen a song yet, and a song is really important.

You want to choose a song that expresses who you are, or what you believe. You have to know the artist or title of the song you want. (which is terrible for me, as I only know bits and pieces of lyrics ~ so I do a google search on the lyrics to find the name and artist!) Just go in your back office and click edit profile. Then on the top right hand side it says song and video on profile. Click that and it will allow you to choose an artist. On their page will be songs and you will have the option to "add" one of those songs. Just click "add" on the song you like and it will magically show up on your page!

On to today's topic! FRIENDS :)

That's what myspace is all about. Making friends, meeting new people. Today, and over the weekend if you choose we will start meeting people and asking people for friendship. This is easily done by going to your back office and clicking on the "search" button, in the task bar. You will have the option to search in a lot of different ways. By username, by real name or throughout myspace. If you are new to myspace look up some old friends, put their real name in the appropriate search box and see if they are hanging out on myspace.

For our purposes you will be using the "all of myspace" option, which is the top box that comes up. Put in a search term that represents who you want to meet, or an interest you have. For example for my new page I am hoping to find other people who are interested in allowing abundance.

I typed allow abundance in the search box and up pops 17,600 options for me to choose from. It just so happens my other page is number one and Mary K is number two.

Now you just click on the person's link and go to their page. Take a look around. See if you would want to interact with this person. If the answer is yes, then you click "add me" or something similar in their contact box (just under the picture). You will then see a message that asks if you really want to be friends with this person. Click yes. You're done. Myspace will send them a notice you want to be friends and they can either accept or decline.

As people accept your requests they will start showing up in your friends section of your page.

We are going to start off doing all of this manually so you can get a good feel for pages and getting to know people. There are ways we will discuss next week to speed up and automate the process. Using the law of attraction you can still find just the right people, only faster!

So have fun finding some new myspace friends. Make sure you add me! You can also join my abundance revolution page.

Have an amazing day!!

MySpace and Your Space = FRIENDS!

WOW! It's been a wild and crazy day in my little world... Thank God for FRIENDS!!! ;-)

This thanks is extended to both my online and offline friends and there comes a point where they are indistinguishable! For instance, last Friday I got together at a hotel local to me, with a (formerly) only online friend... that REALLY JAZZES ME!!! ;-)

I share this because I want you to realize that building a business online is not only a viable way to earn a living, it's also an amazing way to grow and expand yourself along with your network of friends! For me that's simply a vital element of living!!!

I will be continually tweaking and adding to my Prosperity, Abundance, Love profile and for now I feel I have enough of a foundation there to go out and look for some new PAL's ;-)

I'm going to start searching for new friends at MySpace by simply entering search terms into the keyword box. You know, words that express things that I feel passionate and purposeful about like, prosperity, abundance and love for starters! ;-)

We'll talk later about tools that can be used to speed things up while still making some authentic and meaningful connections but on Friday I'll spend some time perusing peoples profile pages and introducing myself to those I resonate with!

Thanks, I appreciate you,

Myspace ~ Telling Your Story

Hi everyone,

Mary K, I have to say the new "home" startled me a bit when I saw it and I was in the middle of making the video :) I did finally see at the top of the page below the task bar it says "page options" you can change back to the "classic" skin if you choose. I did. I'm slow to warm up to change. ;)

So onward and forward! Today we are going to talk about filling in the "about me" section of your profile. It should be the last thing left to do on your page. This is the section that will make or break your marketing efforts at Myspace.

Quick story. I have had 2 pages up at myspace for a long time now. I have interacted with a lot of people, but NEVER had anyone go from friendship to partnership. None, in all this time. I was on the band wagon that Myspace was dead, there's no sense spending time trying to build your business there.

A few weeks ago I listened to a conference call where they talked about a specific way to fill in your about me section. It's called "my story marketing". As soon as I heard it it made total sense. The conference call speaker stated if you do your about me section this way you will notice a difference within two days. I was a bit skeptical about such a quick turnaround, but the idea itself made perfect sense, so I changed my page the next day. No kidding, within 2 days I had people inquiring about my business from my new story. My other page I haven't changed, still nothing. So this method does work, so please follow the steps and put your story together in this specific order and I imagine you will see the same kind of results I did.

All right, here's the plan:

You are selling you on this page. People will want to join your business because of WHO YOU ARE, so let them know who you are. Here's the steps to writing your story.

  • At the top of your page put in a slideshow of your family, your loves and interests anything that expresses who you are. You can make free slide shows at www.rockyou.com. It’s a quick, easy process. When you are done just copy the code they provide and stick it at the top of your “about me” section. The slideshow accomplishes a couple things, it lets people know who you are, but it also keeps people on your page just a little bit longer. People love pictures.
  • Next you want to build up some credibility. Let people know some of your accomplishments. It doesn’t matter what they are. Remember you are calling the name of people who are like you. No matter what you’ve accomplished it will strike a chord with someone. Somebody out there has probably accomplished the same thing and would like to connect with a like-minded person.
  • From there let people know why you are on myspace. Is it to find like-minded people? Do you live in a rural area and find it hard to meet people? Do you have a spirited child and need to talk to someone else who knows what that means? Cool. Put that out there so people know what you are looking for.
  • Next you are going to talk about your history. What makes you who you are right now at this point in your life? Did you grow up poor? Did you grow up rich? Boarding school? Lots of jobs? No jobs? 1 of 10 kids? Only child? Terrible job drives you to work from home? Talk about how you got here.
  • Then you want to go right into your story. This is the most important part. You want people to know YOU, and what you are about. Tell them. Tell them what you are doing, how it’s going and where you plan to take it. You can be as long winded or brief as you wish, but remember if you are going to be long winded it better be pretty engaging so they will keep reading to the end.
  • Next you find the solution. You had this issue, how did you solve it. Did you find the perfect program? Did you move to Hawaii? What changed to solve the problem or issues you were facing in your life.
  • Last but not least you are going to make a call to action. What do you want them to do? Call you on the phone? IM you? Myspace message you? Send you an email? Well tell them to do it then! Don’t make this a wishy washy feeling statement. You are an expert, so position yourself as such. If you want to change your current experience call me now 555-1414. I can help.
  • Now I add at the bottom a little note that if people are too shy to call they can take a quick look at my business and then call if that makes them more comfortable.

At no point on the page do I mention my business name or what it’s about, no banners, no ads, just MY STORY!! In fact it's important you don't add banners to your page, or ads for your business or affiliate links, as you will be seen as a salesperson, not a "real" person. It’s working for me and I know if you put these steps into action it will work for you as well.

Take a look at my new Myspace page and let me know what you think.

When you get your page all put together, and your story added please comment with a link so we can all see it!!! You will get some link love, as well as more eyes on your page. :) Who knows one of our delightful readers may be looking for YOU!

Have a fantastic day!!

Jackie Lee :)

What's new at MySpace? My Face!

Okay... Today I spent some time setting up a new profile at MySpace simply so I could start fresh and new myself!

I was quite surprised to discover that the back area where the 'editing' is done looks very different depending on which page I'm logged into. I would have guessed that as MySpace makes changes that those changes would appear globally. Personally, that's not the case for me. I'm glad I decided to start another profile because I can see where it might lead to confusion, rather than clarity, for me to be describing what I see assuming that everyone else saw the same thing.

Life's funny that way... the eye of the beholder changes the 'beheld' (is that a word?!?) ;-) Like that image over there... do you see how it's you and me together?

Anyway...I'm learning how to make those wonderful videos you're seeing Jackie produce and by next week I hope to have a microphone so I can join her in that venture. (I hear it's very beneficial to have a video uploaded to your MySpace page... moves you into relationship with others at a much faster pace ;-))

In the meantime, you can check out the beginnings of the new 'ME' by clicking HERE

So todays 'lesson' from me is... MAKE NO ASSUMPTIONS!

See ya tomorrow,
--Mary K

Driving Myspace Traffic with Your URL

Myspace currently has 212,702,823 member pages. WOW. That's a lot of people. Now of course some of those pages are not being used, and some of them are just spam pages, but that is a lot of pages no matter what way you cut it. That also means there are a lot of people available for you to meet.

Like the search engines Myspace has a search function. It's located in the toolbar that Mary K showed you yesterday. It will allow you to search a number of different options, keywords, usernames, real names and is a great way to find people.

I want to talk about how people will find you. Your URL, or the tag at the end of your myspace address, will be an important factor in whether people find you or not. You will be asked to choose a URL for your page. You can not change it once it has been chosen so it is a good idea to spend a little time thinking about this.

You want your url to be something that represents you, your philosophy, your loves. You want it to be something that others may put in the search bar looking for likeminded people. For example, my other Myspace page is www.myspace.com/lovejoyabundance. This morning when I checked if you search abundance in the myspace search bar my page comes up number 4. Hmmmm... last week it was number 1. This is very cool because people searching for abundance are the exact people I am trying to attract.

A couple weeks ago at 10am on a Saturday morning I received a phone call. It was a woman who told me she had woken up feeling very depressed. She hadn't been to myspace in a while, but felt compelled to log in on that morning. She said she typed "abundance" in the search bar and my page was number one. She said she did this at 7am and had been on my page since then. She said she felt so much better looking at my pictures, reading my story and felt that she just needed to talk to me. We talked for about 30 minutes that day. By the end of the call I felt great, she felt great and we agreed we'd talk again soon.

That's the power of marketing YOURSELF at myspace. YOU are your product. You may have a business/product/service to offer people, but YOU are what is attracting people to you.

Just remember that today while you are choosing your URL. Here's today's video. It also includes choosing a layout and getting it in your page, and choosing your username. Enjoy.

Get those three things done today and tomorrow we will get your story done. By friday we will be moving to get some friend requests out and hopefully start meeting some people. :)

One more quick note on choosing your layout, that I forgot to mention in the video. Make sure you choose a layout where you can see all your text all the time. Sometimes there is a background image and when you scroll through that part you can't see your text. That's no good. You don't want people to have to struggle to read your story, or they will leave. I know I do. Make it easy to read with a clean, simple layout and you will do great. :)

Have an amazing day and we'll see ya tomorrow!

Jackie Lee :)

There's no place like HOME on the MySpace Toolbar

Ahhh... there's no place like home!

Today I've given some thought to how exactly I want to make a contribution to the experiment this month. Since this is a living, breathing experiment I'm going to spend some time sharing my thoughts about the uses and benefits of various aspects of MySpace as I explore them.

From most of the pages at MySpace you'll notice a toolbar along the top of the page that links to a variety of things... it's the series of words that looks as follows:

Home | Browse | Search | INvite | Film | Mail | Blogs | Favorites | Forum | Groups | Events | MySpace TV | Music | Comedy | Classifieds

To reiterate what Jackie shared in her video...
HOME always takes you to your back door... in other words,

If you click the word 'Home' from anyone's page it will take you to a new page where, if you're not already logged in you are either invited to log in OR you'll be invited to create a profile. There will be many other things on that page that you may want to peruse. It's amazingly interactive which is part of the reason MySpace is such a great place to meet people.

You can so easily find others who share your interests in books, music, hobbies and even philosophies!!! For instance, when people post in their blogs they are invited to list music they are currently reading or books they are currently reading. On the Member login page there is a box on the left side that contains the word, 'Books'. Clicking on 'books' will take you to a listing of books that are listed on blogs. Today, the #1 top book listed is The Secret by Rhonda Byrne followed by another four top books. Above this is a box where you can do a search to find other readers. Pretty nifty tool for any readers interested in connecting with others who enjoy reading too!

That is all on the page called 'Home' if you haven't logged in. Once you have logged in you'll notice that 'Home' looks a little different... kind of the difference between standing outside of your home looking in and actually walking through the door and being able to rearrange things if you choose... or add a new piece of furniture or a knickknack here and there. ;-)

Here is where you can Edit your Profile, change your Account Settings at will, Add/Edit your Photos, Add/Change your Videos, Manage your Calendar, Manage your Blog, Manage your Address Book, View your Profile, PIcs, Videos, Blog, Comments, Friends and Groups. It's also where you can find your URL should you ever want to share the address of your profile with other people. And believe me, if you're marketing anything online you will want to share your MySpace URL! Here's my address: http://www.myspace.com/AmbassadorofPlay
What's yours?!?

Home is really a vital place. We'll explore many more things to be found there tomorrow!
In the meantime... go explore your Home, maybe hang some pictures if you haven't done so already.

C'ya tomorrow, Thanks!

Setting up Myspace

I've been working with some people one on one to get their myspace pages all set up and ready to attract the "perfect" people, and it has allowed me to realize it can be a little overwhelming for people who aren't particularly familiar with social networking sites.

Good learning! For this experiment, I thought we'd take it relatively slow, you can keep our pace, or forge out on your own.

I also thought it might be easier if you could actually SEE what to do. I made this video yesterday to show you exactly how to sign up for you account and show you around the back office at myspace a little bit. This is my first video, and I recognize there is a bit of a learning curve. I'm sure they will get better as we go. :)

Today, all you need to do is sign up for your account if you don't have one, and fill in your interests and your likes ~ music, books, TV etc. Not too hard. Tomorrow we will take the process a little farther and by Thursday I think we should be well on our way to meeting people. :) Even with the basics for the beginning of the week, I think it's very possible to fulfill our intention for the experiment!

Here's today's video: Setting up a Myspace Account:

That's it for today, if you have any difficulty please leave a comment and we will help you in any way we can. :)

Have an amazing day!

MySpace Web Marketing 2.0

I am SO excited to be starting a whole new 30 Day Marketing Experiment!!

For one thing...there is simply the delight I feel about sharing, hopefully
with greater clarity, in a way that anyone who chooses can easily follow
along and apply what we are doing to you own pages... and either
start building a business or ramping up the activities around your
current business.

As Jackie has already shared, we are going to use MySpace to
demonstrate how you begin to brand yourself with involvement in
social communities. I think it's really important to understand that
these techniques will work regardless of the community you feel
most drawn to... yet the tools used within different communities
might vary. As time permits I intend to experiment a bit on my own
in discovering which tools might be useful for which communities since
I'm active in a variety of different online communities.

I realize that some people just starting to explore working from home
on the Internet might feel overwhelmed... and even wonder how it's
possible that anyone can succeed when so many people seem to
be marketing the same products and services. The reason is...
because YOU bring your own unique element to the picture. That's
why it's really about creating BRAND YOU!

Sure... if you and I have a certain number of things in common we're
likely to attract some of the same people and yet, we are bound to
express ourselves differently and attract differently!

And the beauty of MySpace is that there are MILLIONS of potential
new friends to meet!!!

If you already have a product, service or opportunity that you would
like to grow then simply follow along as inspired. If you would like to
participate in the 30 Day Experiment yourself and are looking for a
'best fit' then check out Jackie's very low cost $5 Blessing or go grab
a free Business Power Mall after watching the video at my site:
The Abundance Mall

And here's the deal -- you'll have the support of both Jackie and me
and as you start developing relationships online and discover that
people want to join you in business... you're welcome to share the
link to the 30 Day Marketing Experiment so they will be learning right
along with the rest of us!

Comments and questions WELCOME!!!!
I look forward to hearing from you!

Marketing with Myspace

Good Morning!!

Welcome to the second 30 Day Marketing Experiment. As you can see by the title, this month we will be working at Myspace.

I know I used to cringe when people would talk about working/using myspace. It seemed to me just a place where kids got together and listened to bands. I finally took the plunge and dived into myspace a while back and I can't believe all the really interesting people I have met. I have met AP moms of spirited children, who can understand what I'm going through with Hanna.

I have met many believers in the law of attraction. I have made friends, and yes I have met many business partners. I have learned a lot about myspace in my travels and I look forward to showing you all the great stuff I know about myspace, along with testing it out all over again from scratch, to show you it can be done from day one.

This month's challenge is a little different than last months in a few ways.
  • The first of which is last month you did not need a business/service or product. You could sell other people's products with Bum Marketing. This month we are going to focus on those people who have a business and are looking to ramp up the growth of their business.
  • Instead of focusing on money this month, we've decided to make the goal of the experiment to increase your number of business partners. It seems more solid and measurable to us. We decided that the goal will be 1 new partner per week. It is very doable, and it allows you time to help that person learn how to do what you are doing and get their first person too. It's a great way to build a solid business.
If you are saying, "wait, I don't have a business, how am I going to play along?" Don't panic!!
We've got you covered. Both Mary K and I have opportunities you can join for 5 dollars or less. It is a great way to get started in a business, and work with us through the Myspace Experiment.

If you'd like to take a look at my business, I call it the 5 Dollar Blessing, you are welcomed, and Mary K will be along shortly to give you her intentions and she will share with you her business. It is in no way required for you to be participating in either one of our businesses to participate and succeed along with us in the experiment. But if you don't have something, and you are looking, they are both great programs. :)

Here's my intentions for the experiment this month:

  • Show you how to get a myspace account
  • Show you how to set up myspace to attract the "right" people
  • Show you how to use myspace to begin relationships with others
  • How to move those relationships into partnerships.
  • Help you leverage Myspace in a way you can do this effortlessly and attract 1 new business partner each week.
Please notice I did not say I'm going to teach you how to get leads for your business. That is NOT what this is about. This month is an experiment in Vibrational Marketing; attracting to you those with whom you have something in common. It is going to be a month filled with new relationships, new friendships and yes, there will be some partnerships.

Just stay open to the fact we are looking to meet people, not fishing for leads. Even if someone does not join you in your business endeavor, you will meet people who may become life long friends. And that is a GOOD THING!!! People will be drawn to you for who you are. Those people may need your help as well, whether it's through a business opportunity or a listening ear. Remember, what you give you receive back 10 fold, so give to those you can. :) (as she steps down off her soap box)

How am I planning on "showing" you all this good stuff?
  • Video ~ You can now get a free copy of Camtasia software which I will be using, and so can you.
  • By Example ~ I will be setting up a brand new myspace account and doing it all from the beginning right there with you.
If you have questions, please feel free to leave comments, we will reply. It is my intention to be able to help everyone willing to put in the effort. So whatever it takes to help you succeed, if you are doing your part, I am willing to do what it takes. I would love it if not only Mary K and I were successful in this experiment, but if every one of our readers were as well. I believe it can happen. With Focus and Specific Daily Actions. (that will probably take less than an hour a day).
This month I will be doing my specific daily actions, and then reporting the actions as well as the response to those actions the next day. I will get started this afternoon, and hopefully will have the first video for you tomorrow (cross my fingers).

Woo Hoo, Let's get started!!!

See ya tomorrow,

Jackie Lee :)

Day 19 & 20 ~ Mary K

It's a wrap!!!

You may have noticed we did some juggling with our 'day' numbers. Early on in the 30 Day Marketing Experiment we had decided we would give it 30 days and we fell back on some thinking from our 'former' lives where we had developed a habit of thought that said, "work days are M-F so let's just count those".

Well, by midway through the Experiment we realized that was a bunch of nonsense! After all, one of the benefits of working from home creating income streams from your computer is that you have the flexibility to take action when inspired... which can be any time and any day! ;-) (I personally love that part *grins*)

So as Jackie and I talked about it we realized that what we were really up to was seeing what could be produced in a '30' day (or one month) time period, regardless of when any activities took place because as we looked at our actual pattern we quickly saw that Saturday and Sunday frequently come into the picture as well -- simply because we're inspired and free on those days too!

As to the Experiment itself? I have to confess that since we chose to start with Bum Marketing and I didn't adhere very closely to the Bum Marketing Method that I failed the experiment.

Which is NOT the same thing as the experiment failing!!! Frankly, I see the experiment being a HUGE success! Because for me, a successful experiment is one that leaves me with useful and valuable information that supports me in moving in the direction of personal success and fulfillment.

However, this does leave me not knowing (from personal experience) whether or not Travis' Bum Marketing Method actually does work and could bring in close to $1000 monthly once established. I still suspect it could AND I'm firmly convinced it's unlikely to happen during your first month at it! There's a learning curve and a rhythm that needs to be developed before you find yourself firmly engaged in the 'money generating' tasks. While it's true that research contributes greatly to the eventual generation of money, it's not what I would consider a 'money generating' task like the activities directly related to bringing traffic to your article, lens or any other website is.

As we move onto the next 30 Day Marketing Experiment segment, it's only fair that you realize much of what has been learned in the past month will impact our future efforts in positive ways. So if you've been watching... and doing yourself, I'll bet you'll find that to be true too! ;-)

To wind up the last two days I wrote two articles and submitted them and I started a new lens over at Squidoo.com.

What I've learned from these first 30 Days:

  • I enjoy writing articles and intend to continue consistently doing so.
  • Writing an article I'm satisfied with is rarely accomplished in less than 30 minutes
  • Focus is not the challenge I thought it was... organization is a bigger challenge than I realized. ;-)
  • I'm more successful following my inner-guidance than I am when trying to force myself into taking action 'that works'.
  • I flow cash from sources I'm NOT 'efforting' about - I received an unexpected $505.24 during the course of this first 30 Day Marketing Experiment. $5.24 as a directly result of my 'efforts' around the experiment, $500 around a program I was simply in vibrational alignment with yet had taken no 'action' on.
  • Confirmation that following my PASSION and staying in VIBRATIONAL ALIGNMENT works!!!
I'm very eager and excited to start PHASE 2 of the 30 Day Marketing Experiment in December!!! THANK YOU!!!

EXPECT MIRACLES!

Jackie Lee ~ Day 20

Today is the end of the first 30 day Experiment.

I know it's only day 20, but we've actually been doing this project for 4 weeks and we've made the decision to move on to another experiment.

Stay Tuned Monday for what the next marketing experiment will be!!

Here's the wrap-up for the Bum Marketing Experiment.

1. I did not exactly do a bum marketing experiment. I did more of an article marketing experiment. I think if I had really stuck to Travis' method I probably would have made a little more money. Instead I chose to write articles that led to things I am already doing, instead of possibly more lucrative affiliate products.

As with everything in life I believe if it doesn't feel good to me, it's not going to do well for me. Searching for affiliate products and writing articles I had no personal experience with really just did not feel good for me.

2. Articles are a GREAT way to get traffic. I continue to get traffic to my blog from articles I published to ezine articles MONTHS ago.

3. If you are looking for a way to make some quick cash ~ not necessarily a ton of cash, but quick~ Associated Content is a great way to go. I made 10.22 this week just from a couple of articles I already had laying around. If I consistently continue to publish an article or two there a day that can probably add up to 50 dollars a week.

4. I did sell a few affiliate products from traffic driven from the articles. My squidoo pages worked quite well for this purpose. I sold a few Friend Blaster Pros, and a few Vision Boards, so all in all it was no where near 1000 dollars, but it is a start.

5. The time between when you submit and when your content gets published can be a few days up to a week. (but once it is published it's there forever, unless you take it down) 6. It can be difficult to understand all it takes to pick a good product and keyword. I personally think there is much more to it than is let on in the Bum Marketing Method pages.

7. If you keep getting emails from Travis he provides informative videos and articles to help you hone the process.

8. I had a pretty easy time writing articles daily. I felt really good that I managed to get in the habit of writing regularly. I plan to continue writing a quick article every day and submitting it somewhere, whether it's ezine articles for traffic or Associated Content for money. I just know every morning I need to write an article. In fact, most days I wake up with the article if not completely written, at least the topic in my head!

9. Overall, I'd give the Bum Marketing Method a big thumbs up. It's relatively easy. It's free. It's effective. It makes you money. It will continue to earn money as time goes on. If products are chosen properly, and you follow the method it will be a great way to make some money!!

Did you follow along? Did you practice Bum Marketing with us? If you did we'd love to hear how it worked out for you. Leave us a comment and tell us your experience with Bum Marketing. We'd love to hear.

Get ready for Monday. We will be unveiling a whole new experiment for the month of December. I'll give you a couple hints.

1. It's free
2. It's effective
3. It's fun
4. It employs web 2.0 strategies.

If you aren't familiar with Web 2.0 and why it's the wave of the future. I suggest you pick up a copy of The Attention Age Doctrine. It was just published this week and is a must read for everyone trying to make money online.

See ya Monday! I can't wait to hear what Mary K has to say about this month's experiment ~ I'll be tuning in . . . will you?

Jackie Lee ~ Day 19

Hidee Ho everyone!

Today has been a very scattered, completely lacking focus morning. However, I did manage to get my 30 Day Experiment work done. In between phone calls, chex being thrown at the dog, and 2 friends thinking about ending their marriages. whew!

I signed up for future emails from Travis ~ the big Bum of Bum Marketing ~ and I received a list of keywords from him the other day. I picked a topic off the keywords to write my article about today.

I wrote the article for Associated Content, and added an affiliate link in the extra area available. I led people to a free 6 day course provided through the website. I think it might get me some extra clicks that I'm offering something free, instead of just click here for more info. We shall see.

I debated doing a lens on Keeping your dog from barking, which was the topic of the article, but in the end decided against it. There are a lot of dog barking lenses, and there is one on the first page of google already.

I did look through my current lenses to see where I was getting some traffic and added to one of those.

This may be of interest to you. I was looking at my What is a Vision Board lens which I just made another sale from yesterday (yay! $15.60) and thought of another product I could add to this lens.

Start Creating Your Vision Board Today!
(if you'd like to become an affiliate, just scroll down to the bottom of the sales page)

I had seen a lot of Mind Movies on You Tube while I was looking for videos for this lens. I realized it was another piece of software and had an affiliate program. Here's where it gets really exciting. They are currently running a contest.

You can win 5000 dollars just for making a mind movie and putting it on YouTube. If you get the most views to your mind movie you will win the prize. I could even write a press release about this to get more traffic to my squidoo lens.

I am thinking it might be fun to build a Mind Movie and then use the traffic techniques from the free ebook The Best Traffic Money Can't Buy that I recommend and see if I can do it! You can try it too. If you do decide to join the contest make sure you stop by my Vision Board lens and leave me a comment with a link to your Mind Movie on YouTube. I will add it to the youtube module. :)

So for today's part of the experiment.

The article took about 40 minutes to research and write.
I spent another 30 minutes or so adding to the squidoo lens.

That's it!

Just a NOTE on the experiment.

We are changing some things. We will now be doing the experiments in monthly installments. 30 consecutive days. We can work weekends or not depending on how life goes. It seems a little more realistic to us.

On Monday we will be starting a whole new Experiment so make sure you stay tuned.

We will be doing a wrap up of the Bum Marketing Method tomorrow. Stop by and see how it all added up.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Jackie Lee :)
